Nestled in the stunning landscape of Dare Valley Country Park in Aberdare, Rhonda Cynon Taff, lies our tranquil three-acre reservoir. We’ve transformed this serene, secluded haven into a thriving trout fishing lake, promising a delightful blend of nature, adventure, and tranquillity.

Dare Valley Trout Fishery is more than a fishery, it’s a celebration of the vibrant outdoors, a symbol of conservation, and a heart warming community project. Rich in fly and insect life, our waters provide an excellent natural habitat for Rainbow, Blue, and Brown Trout, with sizes ranging from 3lb up to 20 + lb plus. The joy of fishing here is a year-round affair!

Keen on preserving the natural beauty and promoting local wildlife, we’re creating wildlife-friendly islands in the lake. These islands will encourage a variety of birds and wildlife, contributing to the vibrant biodiversity of the park.

Our facilities are thoughtfully designed to cater to all your fishing needs, including bait, equipment purchases, and rentals. Plus, we offer expert fishing lessons for all levels. After a fruitful day by the lake, unwind at our on-site café/shop, serving a range of snacks and refreshing drinks. Accessible from outside the lake area, the café welcomes all park visitors, not just anglers.
